Biotechnology 101, co-hosted by MaRS, CBERC, and TBI, will take place during National Biotech Week.

Dr Danielle Gauci, an award winning high school teacher, will be presenting on the basics of biotechnology. Aimed primarily at secondary and post-secondary students, the presentation will look at and discuss the impact of Biotechnology and its applications. The fields that will be covered include; human health care, the environment, and agriculture. Controversial issues such as stem cells, genetic testing, pandemics and food safety will be explored, allowing the audience to see what the future of biotechnology will hold.
